Bolid Explosion
Simulation of the explosion of Lugo bolid in the earth atmosphere. On January 10, 1993 a bolid of magnitude -23, nearly as bright as the sun (magnitud -27), crossed the northern part of Italy and exploded over Lugo (Emilia Romagna). Rather exceptional by its brightness, the explosion was equivalent to 14 kT of TNT or 10E14 Joules and generated shock waves that were recorded by 6 sismic stations. The objet was between 3 and 5 km wide.
SL9 impacting Jupiter
On July 23, 1994 fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 impacted Jupiter and let behind her large scars as large as the earth in the jovian atmosphere. This is the first time astronomers observed directly such a phenomenon which became very rare in the solar system. The impacts disappeared a few months later.
The giant red sun
The aspect of the Sun in 5 billions years. Our star will became a red giant star, underlying a 69 degrees angle at the earth surface, shining at magnitude -35. The little yellow dot in the upper right corner in the size of the sun nowadays.
The First Flash
On July 23, 1994 dozen of fragments of comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 hit Jupiter. The largest fireballs reach a temperature between 7500 and 15000 K and let behind them large scares as large as the earth in the upper atmosphere of Jupiter. The disturbances subsisted a few months then vanished, drained by the atmospheric circulation.
The wormhole
This a view of a static wormhole connecting to remote region of space-time. This objet is currently a complex quantum entity in four dimensions. If we can enlarge and stabilizy it at a macroscopic scale we can maybe use it to cross the universe faster than ligh speed using its strange property of "tunneling" the space and time.
Iridium Aloft
Because Iridium satellites are positionned in perpendicular to the earth horizon, seen from the ground from time to time its large solar panels reflect the sun light to the observer who assist to a bright flash that can last a few seconds.
